He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Reed Rodgerson, of Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand. He had

moved to the UK where he married Gillian Rodgerson, of Brighton, UK. He took part in operations over

the Netherlands after Market Garden when his Mosquito crashlanded near Schaarsbergen,

Netherlands. Ian was the navigator, and was killed along with his pilot (Richard Maitland Singer) in the

incident.
