Ernest was the sone of Ernest Wilson and Estella Mary Bancroft. He married Shirley Patricia Cook on

Nov 7, 1942 at St. Margaret's Anglican Church in New Toronto, Ontario. He was killed along with the

rest of his crew when his plane crashed on 20th September 1944 as part of Operation Market Garden

in Holland. Ernest is buried in Oosterbeek War Cemetery.
