Lettice also became an author, recording her own history as well as

three other books — a history of ATA, the Forgotten Pilots (1971)

and the Winged Odyssey (1993). She was also the founder and a

life member of the British Women Pilots’ Association.

Lettice passed away on July 21st, 2014 at the impressive age of 99.
