Percy was the son of George and Millicent Pennington, and the older brother of Arthur, eho also

enlisted with the Leicestershire Regiment. Both brothers worked at Holwell Works as moulders

apprentices. Perch was also a member of Sage Cross methodist Church. On the 23rd July 1915 a

German mine exploded under their trench, killing Percy and several other men from the regiment. They

are buried in Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
