Albert was the son of Edward Solly, of 2, Gordon Villas, Gordon Rd., Westwood, Margate He married

Elizabeth Maud Hill who lived at 5, Park Place, High St., Margate, Kent. Albert was the battalion

Chiropodist when they were in India. He also held a 1st Class Army Certificate of Education. He was 23

when he was killed in action around Ypres in February 1915. HE has no known grave and is

commemorated on the Menin Gate in Ypres.
