Dear Gayle Tweed,
I write to you to say a big Thank you for all the help and support I have received
from Lucy McCormack (Dementia Advocacy Coordinator Stockton-on-Tees ) Sadly
my family member died in December last year Lucy has been fantastic, I was put in
touch with her through the hospital suggesting I got in touch with the dementia
society who put me in touch with Lucy, I can not tell what a God send she has
been to me and my family as we do not live in the area in fact we live some 200
miles away ,her knowledge of the local area and services has been invaluable to us
and some times she has just listened and offered comfort, she e-mailed me as she
went off for annual leave at Christmas to say she would be back in touch in the
new year which she did. Lucy tells me her post is funded by The Dementia Voice
Stockton project which is funded by Comic Relief North East Dementia Fund. I am
just so glad this was in place as I really don't know where we would have been if it
was not there and when comic relief comes round again I will be digging deep as
these projects really do make a difference to peoples lives . Once again I would
like to say a big thank you to everyone involved but in particular to Lucy who has
made a real difference and hopefully we will receive the right outcome for my
family member too. Best Wishes
